Today October 24, 2024, the Student Body Organization of Saint Monica Institute of Theology-OAD hosted a Dinner for a Cause in the Institute. The program started at 7:30pm.
In his welcome speech, the School Director, Rev. Fr. Annacletus Nzewuihe, OAD, SThD welcomed all visitors and used the opportunity to introduce the Institute to the people. He emphasized that the name of the Institute has been changed from St. Monica Institute of Religious Studies to Saint Monica Institute of Theology as requested by the Dicastery for Culture and Education Rome consequent to the ongoing Pontifical affiliation of the Institute with the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Manila. The School Director also made mention that the Institute is now offering a three-year theological program for candidates to priesthood and lay persons as far as they meet the requirement which include, the completion of Philosophy. He mentioned other certificate programs offered in the institute as Theology of religious life and Systematic theology for lay persons.
In his prayer before dinner, Fr. Luigi Kerschbamer, OAD, the Provincial Vicar of the OAD Philippine Province used the opportunity to express his thanks to God for the vocation to priesthood and religious life and the support of the mission of OAD in the Philippines and Asia and in particular for the school.
Fr. Noel Cena, OAD, Prefect of the Student Body Organization (SBO) and the Organizer of the program in his closing remark expressed his gratitude to God and to the guests for their support and prayers. He dedicated a song titled: "The impossible dream" to them in thanksgiving.
The program featured the presentation of various student nationalities and cultures: Indian culture and dance, Indonesian culture and dance, Philippines and Vietnam cultures and dance. The students by year levels, their religious communities and nationalities were presented.
