Saint Monica Institute of Theology Officially Affiliated with UST Manila!

We are overflowing with immense gratitude and joy to announce a truly historic moment for the Saint Monica Institute of Theology (SMIT)! We have officially received final approval for affiliation with the prestigious Pontifical University of Santo Tomas (UST) Manila, directly from the Dicastery for Culture and Education in Vatican City!

This is an unprecedented achievement in the history of our beloved Institute and a monumental milestone for theological education within the entire Visayan Region. This affiliation signifies a profound recognition of SMIT's academic rigor, commitment to theological formation, and adherence to the highest standards of Catholic intellectual tradition.

Consequently, SMIT now offers a three-year Bachelor degree in Sacred Theology granted by the University of Santo Tomas. 

This remarkable accomplishment would not have been possible without divine providence and the tireless, dedicated, and truly selfless efforts of our esteemed School Director, Rev. Fr. Annacletus Nzewuihe, OAD, STh.D. We extend our deepest thanks and heartfelt appreciation to him for his exceptional leadership.

This affiliation opens new doors for our students, faculty, and the broader community, offering enhanced academic opportunities, resources, and a strengthened connection to the rich intellectual heritage of the Pontifical University of Santo Tomas.
